Word Of The Year

My word for the past year was transformation and when I chose it back in December of 2023, I had no idea how extreme that metamorphosis would be. I had been doing the work of growing, learning, and evolving for a few years and I was ready to embrace all the changes that work would bring about.

As 2024 comes to an end I’ve been reflecting on all that has transpired. This past year has held some of the highest highs and lowest lows. Some experiences felt like my soul had been broken apart. And some moments I felt so incredibly full of love and gratitude, I thought my heart might explode with joy.

But that’s what life is all about, really. The moments that bring us to our knees and the ones that set our hearts to singing.  You must be here for it all. You can’t know true happiness without allowing yourself to feel the pain.

If I’ve learned anything this past year it’s the importance of showing up every day, in whatever matter that may be. And to allow myself to feel all my emotions without judging them or trying to stifle them. You must feel to heal. Something I fully embraced during one of my Soul Art Certification classes.

A new year is just around the corner and with it will come new experiences and new opportunities. Some will be good; some will be bad. But ultimately all will serve to move us forward on our life path.

If you aren’t familiar with a word of the year, it’s a practice of choosing a word to help guide and inspire you throughout the year. It can help you focus on what you wish to manifest and bring into your life. It doesn’t matter what word you choose, as long as it resonates with you.

Below is a PDF to write down your word of the year, along with some examples, some questions to ponder, and a vision board activity. You can do this by yourself or with friends and family. I’d love to hear what word you choose for 2025 and what it means to you!
